For the first time in St. Petersburg, an international project was presented— a magical art show by Pavel Kir, performed in collaboration with a symphonic orchestra conducted by Christian Delizo and enhanced by artificial intelligence, opening the artist’s solo exhibition The Places.
The series of works on display offers a unique opportunity to follow the artist, passionate not only about art but also about travel, to see Paris, Dubai, and Tokyo in a new light, and to let the author guide you to such exotic locations as Myanmar.
It is no coincidence that the venue for this new solo exhibition by Pavel Kir was the Headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society — one of the oldest organizations in the world, supporting discoveries and exploration.
The process of creating a painting always represents a kind of expedition— a journey behind the tool or material, deep within oneself, to the South Pole of sensations.
In this creative odyssey, the artist was accompanied by timeless classics performed by the chamber symphonic orchestra under the baton of Christian Delizo, as well as modern technology in the form of artificial intelligence, which processed the painting before the eyes of the audience. The guests of the evening witnessed the magical process of the synthesis of arts, sharing the creator’s journey and empathizing with the unfolding process.
In the work born during the art performance, the artist managed to allow the mind to retreat, to let the melodies guide to the unknown, so that, in this space, a new world could be created. This very process of the birth of a piece, the manifestation of the fullness of life in line, color, and form, is at the core of Pavel Kir’s entire creative vision.
